Call for abstracts

The EFSMA Congress invites researchers, practitioners, and professionals in the field of sports medicine and exercise science to submit abstracts for consideration. This biennial event serves as a premier platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research, innovative practices, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Abstracts can only be submitted online on the event website. Prior online registration of at least one of the authors is required to upload the abstract (no payment is necessary).

Deadline for abstract submission: May 01, 2025

You can check if the summary has been correctly uploaded and/or make changes by accessing the Abstracts page in the "Participant profile" section.

Any changes or corrections can be made until May 01, 2025, after that date you will no longer be able to modify the abstract.

There is no limit to the number of abstracts a participant can submit. The abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and the communication of acceptance will be sent as soon as possible to the participant that uploaded the abstract.

Abstracts will be published as a journal “ Medicina dello Sport” supplement ( Official Journal of the European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations, Indexed in: BIOSIS Previews, EMBASE, Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Scopus, Impact Factor 0.6)

Prepare your abstract

The abstract must respect the following requirements:

  • Language: English
  • The desired form of presentation will be specified - oral communication or eposter presentation.
  • Select one of the major topics that describe your paper
  • Title: written in capital letters, maximum 200 characters
  • Full name of authors (without academic, professional titles) with an emphasis on the presenting author
  • Authors' affiliation the institution, the city where the authors work in separate rows for each author
  • The body of the abstract maximum 300 words, structured into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. No tables or graphs are accepted.

Review Process

  • Abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the respective fields.
  • Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, scientific rigor, relevance, and clarity.
  • Accepted abstracts will be presented as oral presentations or posters.

By submitting an abstract, all authors allow the organizers to publish it in the conference materials and/or on the website (and by doing so, certify that the abstract is original work).

Abstracts must be uploaded by the announced deadline. After the deadline, they will no longer be considered.

Presenters of accepted abstracts will not be exempted from paying the participation fee or other travel expenses (accommodation, transportation, etc. - if they opt for ONSITE participation).

The authors presenting the abstracts must be registered and confirmed participants.

You can send the summary only by uploading it to your participant account - use the email address and password received during registration to log in.

Important:
Check the abstract in detail for spelling and grammar, the organizers will publish it in the submitted form.
Please note that only online loading of abstract will be accepted. Abstracts sent by email will not be reviewed.

Form of presentation

Oral presentation:

E-poster: All these posters will run throughout the Congress in the special space set up for E-posters, at the Congress location.

What is an e-poster?

  • The e-poster is a poster in PDF presentation format that will be displayed in the specially arranged area at the location of the event. They will also be published on the event website.
  • The e-poster system allows each delegate to view all e-posters throughout the Congress.

Instructions for presenting electronic posters (e-poster)

All E-poster presentations must be in 16:9 aspect ratio (vertical page layout - Portrait). To prepare your presentation, you can use PowerPoint 2013 or later, then save it as a PDF file.
